HELLO JEFFCO FIELD HOCKEY!!
To begin, thank you for your interest in one of the most incredible sports to ever be played around the world. Colorado is one of many states in the US, that does not have a big hockey community quite yet. CO only has 15 high school teams in the ENTIRE STATE! 16 games for the season, we play every team once, and one team twice. This is how the league has been for the last three years I am been involved with the program. From now on, you will hear me referring to this sport as simply "hockey" because that is what it is. When or if you decide to leave this country and experience other cultures, you'll see this sport is embedded into the fabric of many nations. Including India, Netherlands, Spain, France, and Germany to name a few. There are many opportunities in this hockey community to travel and see the world!
Hope everyone is having a great summer thus far. I would like to share some info about the upcoming season with you all. This year will be the second season under the umbrella school Dakota Ridge, the only High School Field Hockey Program in Jeffco! Athletic Director Matt Heckel, and faculty/administration at DRHS, are very excited to be home of the Jefferson County Field Hockey program. We are ready to have all schools in Jeffco represented through this program. If you may have friends in the county interested in playing, please forward their information my way! All are welcome!
We are happy welcome back Coach Meghan Hollenbach, All-American goalie from PA, as our goalie coach!
She successful trained the best goalie in the state last season! Megan Jackson (rising junior) We are extremely excited to see where these two go the next couple years!
